During our all inclusive Retreat in Occitania in the South of France, you will learn to step up your abilities as an artist, find your artistic identifier that makes your personal expression through the medium of oil painting unique and valuable. Your tutor, Richard Thorneycroft, is experienced and supportive, with a long and successful track record.

To inspire and get the creative juices flowing, this one-of-a-kind retreat is interlaced with wine-tasting at the vineyards where the grapes are grown, wellness treatments, Michelin starred dining and visits to great eateries as well as exciting excursions through breathtaking scenery and wonderful historical monuments where a sketch pad becomes invaluable.

Your experienced tutor, Richard Thorneycroft

Richard Thorneycroft, is from England, and has lived in France for over a decade where he has been painting, teaching and hosting painting retreats. He trained at the Prince of Wales's Drawing School, Byam Shaw and The Heatherley School of Fine Art where he took a high-ranking Diploma in Portrait Painting. Richard is influenced by Degas, John Singer Sargent, Alphonse Mucha and even 1950's and 60's film poster design. Richard has a renowned track record as a tutor, with an ability to inspire excellence and rapid progress in his students, emphasizing development of the student’s individual style and talent, instead of settling on ability to copy established artists.
